MSU Libraries has negotiated open access agreements (also known as transformative or read & publish agreements), which provide MSU authors with the opportunity to publish their research open access without needing to pay an article processing charge (APC).
Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) MSU corresponding authors can publish an unlimited number of open access (OA) articles free of charge in any ACM publication, including journals, conference proceedings, and magazines. To qualify, corresponding authors must use their NetID@msstate.edu email address when submitting their work. This agreement is valid through June 2026.
Cambridge University Press (CUP) Under this agreement, MSU corresponding authors can publish in most hybrid or gold OA CUP journals. The agreement covers up to 11 APCs per calendar year for the MSU campus and resets each January. This agreement is valid through December 2025.

Company of Biologists MSU corresponding authors may publish an unlimited number of OA articles in the Company of Biologists' hybrid and gold OA journals: • Development • Journal of Cell Science • Journal of Experimental Biology • Disease Models & Mechanisms • Biology Open
This agreement is valid through December 2025.
