This lecture, along with the accompanying research fellowship, is funded by the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Foundation, which supports research utilizing the late congressman’s extensive collection of papers. Organized and led by Kate Gregory, Director of the Mississippi Political Collections, the annual research fellowship and lecture series aim to promote high-quality academic and professional studies. The fellowship offers an award of up to $5,000 to support travel expenses for scholars and other interested researchers conducting work within any of the MPC's extensive archival collections.
“We are thankful to the Montgomery Foundation for their generous support of this program. The Montgomery Fellowship and Lecture Series is a great opportunity to showcase exciting, impactful research that utilizes our unique collections” Gregory said.
