MSU Libraries is pleased to announce that Dr. Carolyn J. Brown, author of The Artist’s Sketch: A Biography of painter Kate Freeman Clark will be giving a talk about Mississippi artist Kate Freeman Clark and her work, in conjunction with the exhibit currently on display in the John Grisham Room in Mitchell Memorial Library: EN PLEIN AIR: The Art of Kate Freeman Clark.
Dr. Carolyn J. Brown is a writer, editor, retired teacher and independent scholar. She is the author of two previous award-winning biographies, A Daring Life: A Biography of Eudora Welty and Song of My Life: A Biography of Margaret Walker, and the recently published A De Grummond Primer: Highlights of the Children’s Literature Collection, the first book about the extraordinary children’s literature archive at the University of Southern Mississippi.
