About William G. "Bill" Simpson
William G. "Bill" Simspon, Jr. was born in Gulfport Mississippi in 1923. He was a for administrative assistant to Mississippi Senator James O. Eastland and a former Deputy White House Chief of Staff in the President Jimmy Carter White House. He attended the University of Mississippi and the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy and served in the Navy during World War II. He returned to Mississippi after the war where he owned a seafood company and served on the Mississippi Marine Conservation Commission. He died in Washington DC on November 20, 2003.
