Kenneth Drake Embry was born October 10, 1877 In West Point, Mississippi. He started working in Memphis in 1895. He then began working for the Southern Pacific Railroad in April 1900 as a freight office clerk and was soon thereafter promoted to Purchase Clerk. He worked for five years in Memphis and was then transferred to Houston, Texas where he worked for forty-seven years. He died in Houston, Texas, December 9, 1954. He never married nor had any children. The Southern Pacific Railroad was founded in 1865 by San Francisco businessmen. The first line ran from San Francisco to San Diego and ran to New Orleans by 1883. The company merged with Union Pacific on September. 11, 1996.
